Blood of Heroes plays as a hard multiplayer of Darks Souls: we play it

What kind of game is that anyway? Blood of Heroes is announced in brutal battle scenes and the motto Makes fast and cruelly!. It sounds like a good action game and it is. As in for honor, struggles with medieval weapons in archaic sands against other players and they bleed you (or cut your head.

The game is seen and a gameplay similar to for honor at first sight, but according to the developers, the medieval butchery of Ubisoft was not the model. According to his statement, Blood of Heroes was already being developed when for honor had not yet been announced.

Rather, the hard multiplayer mode of Dark Souls was the model. Many players would have wanted more, but Souls focused on a player and the multiplayer was more an accessory. That is why the Vizor developer's plan occurred to develop a PVP multiplayer game that captures the feeling of Souls PVP.

Who has played for game, our action fan and the Jürgen Horn Vikings ventured into the dark extension of Blood of Heroes. On the other hand, several developers of Studio Vizor de Belarus were at first, including Chief Developer Dmitry Voronov, who gave valuable advice and opposed a bitter resistance in the sand.

Hard to learn and difficult to dominate, but good

This were the first steps: As I have developers by my side as wise advisors, I jump the already boring tutorial and I put myself directly into the battle. How difficult is it going to be?

And in fact, it goes directly to the core of the matter. I grabbed one of the three initial heroes, a somber guy with armor and shield, and I leave stretching. I immediately realized: Man, this guy is away from home comfortably.

While in other games you walk gently through the area like an elf fluffy, my warrior with the thick armor of it trampled the botany as an elephant. It shows every pound of steel that covers the powerful body of it.

This is how the game works: But my hero does not have to walk around for a long time, because my enemies do me a favor by attacking me immediately. Since the developers explained the basic concepts shortly before, I hold the key to block and the attacks of the opponents collide with my shield without any effect.

But I can not be happy for a long time, because one of the opponents opens and hits me with a strong attack that crosses the cover of my shield.

The fat tank warrior can stand a lot, but it is even slower than the rest of the gang.

You have to evade that, says a developer in the role of captain obviously lacmonically from the beginning. But evasion is also a paused matter in Blood of Heroes. Where you make spectacular mortal jumps in other games, the caves full of muscles in this game only dive slightly to one side. Any excessive movement is avoided. I am used to different things and first I have to deal with this movement economy.

However, I avoid most attacks, which is also due to the fact that I can make me invulnerable sometimes. Each hero has 2 skills that help him in battle. In addition to being invulnerable, my kind of fat tank has a special blow that knocks down enemies.

There are also several blows and combos with which you can knock down enemies, kick them for cliffs or leave them stunned. If you do not lock or dodge intelligently and plan your own attacks, some of which have very long animations, will not win a pot, let alone a glorious victory!

Each hero plays differently

Thus, the different characters play: After the first round was won, almost only refueling and my two comrades flanked and cut off opponents with their axes, start more rounds and try the other heroes.

Not only do they differ in appearance, they are also different in terms of gameplay:

  • There is a Viking type with two axes. He is relatively agile and is well distributed, but it is much more fragile than the tank type.
  • Another hero is a muscular with a large ax, which distributes it correctly and is quite hard.
  • Another warrior can burn burning and set fire to the enemies. Magic also plays a paper here.
  • There is also a guy with staff that looks like a Viking priest and who specializes in healing and support.
  • The last hero for the principle differs from the previous warriors, because he is not a Nordic type, but a kind of Zulu warrior who throws spears and is the only distance wrestler in the national team so far.

Here, the warrior of the flames Wold knocks down to the powerful swinger of the ax.

I try them all and see some basic truths about the game:

  • If you do not use armor, you are dead very quickly; Evasive action and blocking are really important.
  • Distance combat is really complicated.
  • If you have the healer on your team and know the trade of him, you have an immense advantage.
  • There is a damn friend friend!

The last point in particular is something that you must first understand. Anyone who walks randomly while the comrades of him are standing around you can hit him. And since you can only cure yourself in normal mode 3V3 if a healer is also playing, every lost point of life is a disaster!

It is also interesting: who dies can only reappear in the next round. The previous hero remains dead and you must bet another character of the selection. So the game literally forces me to control all the heroes at least rudimentary. Therefore, there is no pure network.

Here you can also reappear during the Round and the heroes blocked by death are available again after a few minutes.

Even more than in 3VS3 mode, the focus here is in tactics and a planned approach. Whoever simply rushes at random will be overcome without mercy. The pure combat success fades before the tactical maneuvers, in which an astute villain simply squeezes secretly and conquers the points. So I can get one or two victories, although I often lose in direct combat against developers and game testers much more experienced.

Customizable sands and missing women

This are treated and crafts: Crafts and sands were also discussed roughly. You can collect craft resources through several challenges and achievements and use them to create all kinds of things.

These include cosmetics, new weapons and sand modifiers. Weapons are not only decorative, but also change the first skill you have with the corresponding hero. The updates of the sand, in turn, change the appearance of the sand, because every second battle takes place on your own sand and then you can show your personal battlefield.

What is to come? For the future, developers are mainly planning new heroes that should come from all possible cultures. Because unlike for honor, which takes place in a strange mixed world, the battles in Blood of Heroes take place according to developers in a proto-Germanic world of the dead. So a kind of Valhalla, where the souls of the dead heroes are always polished the face and drink between the fights.

Therefore, there should still be heroes of Roman / Greek Celtic culture and even Slava in the future.

The Guerrero Zulú that launches spears is the only exotic object of the selection so far.

What's up to criticize? In itself, the game already causes a solid impression and I really had to get away and not play a round more after another. But if you want to play Blood of Heroes intelligently, you have to deepen the complicated game, which forgives some mistakes and it turns out to be fatal. It is possible that casual players are not worth so much their money here.

In for Honor there are also brutal fighters, but not in Blood of Heroes.

There were also some minor errors, like the fact that my hero from time to time had no head, but it was still alive. In addition, the perspective of the camera is sometimes too close to the fray and it is difficult to distinguish between opponents and allies, which is a problem especially in conjunction with friend fire.

Interestingly, all the heroes are also men. And although the stage would easily offer space for driving hard shields and wild Amazon, there is currently not a single woman in the selection of heroes. When asked about it, none of the developers wanted to give me a comment.

* VERDICT: A game I've been waiting for a long time *

Even the first trailer and the images of Blood of Heros woke me up curiosity and I was not disappointed. The game is played more comfortably and tactically and you have to deal with the matter to solve something.

Crushing wild buttons almost never brings anything, like just hiding behind a shield or a cover.

In addition, there is the fantastic scene of World of the Dead Walhalla, which even explains the reappearances in the world. Anyone who is already an immortal warrior soul that fights forever, can also occasionally die and resurrect.

Also, there are a lot of possibilities to design the heroes, your equipment and even the sand yourself. Then, if you like the house and the game of fashion (like me), you will have fun here as the fans of the hard PVP action to the Dark Souls.
