Does Uncharted 5 come? Naughty Dog
Actually, Uncharted 4 has completed the series of adventurer Nathan Drake complete. The standalone part Uncharted: The Lost Legacy still told his own history around fan favorite Chloe, but since 2017, however, it has become quiet for the franchise, at least in relation to new offshoots. A Naughty Dog recruiter has now given an indication that it might be more uncharted in the future.
Naughty Dog works on 'heritage of Uncharted'
The info comes from the LinkedIn page of Christina-Marie Drake McBrearty, which started fresh as a recruiter at Developer Studio Naughty Dog. In a post office she explains that after talents scouts and probably future teams are looking for both new and old IPs:
[It is something very special, future teams not only for new titles, but also for the heritage of uncharted.
Whether really new uncharted games are meant is of course not clear. Especially the word Legacy [engl. For heritage] could also refer to the Legacy of Thieves Collection, which has already appeared for PS5 and is also to come for the PC during 2022. But it is unlikely that Naughty Dog needs its own team for the PC release of the Collection, especially as the Port is taken over by Developer Iron Galaxy.
So it is very conceivable that the team returns to Naughty Dog to the Uncharted series. As the Lost Legacy has shown, they can finally work well without hero Nathan. Unlike in the first three parts of the series, this time, author Amy Hennig would no longer be on board, which has already left the studio during the development of Uncharted 4. Further information on new Uncharted
Already in the past there was indications that Naughty Dog could tinker to new uncharted content. Lastly, industry insider and journalist Jason Schreier had mentioned in a report that the developer team would work together with Bend Studio on a new part. The same report also emerged that Day's Gone would not get a continuation, which was a little later than true, and that a remake of the Last of Us was in progress. The latter is currently not confirmed, but there are always hints that even turn to a release 2022.
Naughty Dog Co President Neil Printmann also made fans in the past hope for a new Uncharted, but held vague. At least it is already known that Naughty Dog is currently working on a new singleplayer game.
