Dungeons & Dragons: The new Dragonlance novel gets release date in 2022

Tracy Hickman's Longest Gestation Dragoncence Novel and Margaret Wei's will be launched in 2022. Dragon lance: Dragons of deception will be launched on August 9, 2022, marking its first official return to the popular fantasy world in more than a decade. Dragons of deception is the first of a trilogy planned with novels, all of which will be written by Hickman and Wei's. Wei's made the announcement of the release date of the new book on the Twitter profile of her, along with a revelation of the cover of the book.

The announcement marks the end of a long journey for Dragons of deception, that had an unusual path for publication. The news of a possible draconian trilogy emerged last year when Hickman and Wei's demanded Wizards of the Coast for an alleged non-compliance when Wizards decided not to go ahead with trilogy. The demand was resolved in December 2020 and both parties confirmed that the trilogy was back.

Dragon lance was launched as a shared universe in 1984, with the scene of a series of popular novels from Hickman and Wei's, as well as a series of game modules for Calaboose and dragons. The central books of the franchise followed the war of the Launches, a heroic struggle between a group of heroes and the forces of the dark dragon goddess Tahinis. While Dragon lance was withdrawn mostly the active use in the D & D material, Wizards of the Coast published Traitor of Fijian dragons this year that not only had a Dragoncence character in the title, but also included updated statistics of several Dragon lance monsters.

The official description of Dragoncence: Dragons of deception says the following: Destiny Rose thorn, as the name of it indicates it, the predict daughter of the destination is created. But when her father dies in the War of La Lance, she observes how her world carefully built from her collapses. She not only loses the beloved father of her, but also the legacy he has left: the lands and the castle of her family. To save her father, she plots a bold plan: retreat in time and avoid the death of him. First, she has to secure the travel device in time, which is known to be in possession of the energetic Gender Tasslehoff Burr foot. But to change the time, she needs another magic artifact: the most powerful and dangerous artifact ever created. The search for destiny takes it from the dwarf of Thorburn to the city of Solace and beyond, starting a chain of disastrous events that threaten to divert the course of the river of time, alter the past and change the future forever.
