FIFA 22: Less FUT, more career - my wishes for the future of the EA

When it comes to bringing about FIFA, then I m always at the front. That s what I prove this year several times. In another column, I called the football simulation as absolute cheeky. And even in my test, the EA kicker is rather below average compared to other game magazines. Just to complain, without having improvement suggestions, but of course is not the solution to the problem. How should FIFA evolve, if you do not give constructive criticisms? In this video I want to try to summarize, summarize what I would want from a good FIFA. This can be summed up relatively easily: finally makes a better career mode!

He was always my pebble horse. For over 10 years now, at the start of the game, I am looking for a club from the fourth English league and attempts to get into the Premier League with him and then play the Champions League crown. Time with more, sometimes with less success. It is all the more regrettable for me that EA SPORTS has always treated the mode in recent years.

Back to the roots!

Do not misunderstand me: Especially in the younger past, at least a little has changed. FIFA has continued to get a few smaller updates donated: You can now make your own manager avatar that occurs in press conferences and interactive transfer negotiations. The playing attribute was introduced to a cutoff, the training programs again important. Development plans and dynamic growth give you youth players even better. And since this year has been with Create Your Club even the option of creating on board to create your own club.

But I am firmly convinced that there is even more. Why? Because EA Sports has already proven that! For this you have to have a look just a bit in the past. All of what I would want from a FIFA, there was actually already. And in FIFA 07. the part that is still ideal by fans - just because of his great career mode. This 15-year-old game just gives you as much more control over your association, when the offshoots of the last five years have made only an effort.

Do not you believe? Then here a small tasting: If you create your own club in FIFA 07, then you can not only adapt his coat of arms and jerseys, but also his squad. So you can choose whether you get started with authentic world stars like Ronaldo and Co. or with specially created players. As a manager you have the opportunity to draw sponsors for your club. They then provide you with additional capital based on your performance. There are fixed payments per game, victorious bonuses, special payments for climbs or cup gains and even loyalty bonuses. That makes you financially not only more independent, because you are not solely dependent on transfer revenues and revenue from the game. It looks even more authentic! Finally, advertising and marketing now play a central role in football. For this, the financiers do not even have to be real companies: in FIFA 07 you also had only fictitious advertising partners on the chest. You can even sponsor yourself from the local pizza booth!

Everything was better before

The possibilities to spend your money again were also so much more extensive: while in FIFA 22 (Buy Now 59.99 € / 53.99 €) only a few scouts hiring and firing, there was a comprehensive staff in FIFA 07 Management: You call coal into different departments that improve the skills of your staff and so unlock bonuses: fitness coaches brought extra stamina, offensive coach improved the degrees of your striker, a medical department reduced the downtime of injured players. Even a stadium manager is allowed to adjust! The evaluation piece for piece your arena, which brought you more viewers and thus more money. Because of course, the ticket prices were also set by hand at that time!

There are still so much beautiful little stuff: Again and again fluttering in your PC internal memos, newspaper reports or other random events in which your opinion is in demand. What do you do with riots in the cabin? Do you keep the players a salted stable, let you clarify the team captain the matter or do not do anything? Your decision! This is clearly credible than the sparse player talks by mail that exist in current offshoots. Also because the consequences can be significantly more far-reaching. Fut kill the career

Of course, FIFA 07 is not perfect. In view of his age, you can go a lot to the game. The otherwise shows the current series settlers, which have the same deficits. Why is there any repurchase clauses for transfer negotiations even after 15 years. They are now gang and would be in real football business, as well as lending with a purchase option and exit clauses, which already exists in Fifa. Why do not I have the opportunity to play with a real trainer like Jürgen Klopp? Why is not there a video referee? Why can not I ask an increase in the transfer budget with the board? Why does a score only take a maximum of 15 seasons? And why are there no online career mode, which has Madden NFL too!

Instead of investing in the offline modes, much dear new features and content for the Ultimate Team are thought out. There is the coal. This also shows the development this year again: Since the two central competitions were revised in FUT, an open co-pop matchmaking introduced, more options for stadium expansion added and conjured up new players from the hat again with the Futheroes cards. The ruble has to roll! And look at the numerous pack openings on Twitch and YouTube, then he probably does that. That the makers put their priorities differently in the future is therefore probably unlikely. EA will not suddenly concentrate on other things. Many points on my list will continue to remain wishful thinking. But hey, how do you say so beautiful: the hope dies well as best last.
