Games of the Week - The 5 Best New Games for iOS and Android - April 2

In the computer game sector, games as a solution (GaaS) represents providing video games or game material on a proceeding revenue version, similar to software as a service. Games as a service are ways to monetize computer game either after their first sale, or to support a free-to-play design. Games released under the GaaS model normally get a lengthy or uncertain stream of generated income from new web content over time to urge gamers to proceed paying to sustain the game. This typically leads to games that function under a GaaS model to be called living games or online games , given that they consistently transform with these updates.

It s that time again! Time for another entry into our long-standing Games of the Week series.

With this article we bypass the droves of subscription services (Apple Arcade, Google Play Pass, GameClub, Hatch and all your friends), which were introduced over the years on mobile platforms. We also do not consider things like Steam Link or Google Stadia, which enable streaming to handheld devices - and would open this list for almost every game under the sun.

This means that our list is a finely curated list of brilliant, fresh title that you can download and play without subscribing to or installing third-party initiatives. Of course there are some great games for these services, but we focus on the things you can just download.

This week we definitely have a tendency to the digital board game, but there are also explosive chicken, raging packages and a bit of espionage through the government. Whatever you like this week, there are definitely many games that you can try - and we will introduce you to the best of them.

1 Absolutely reliable delivery service

Developer: TinyBuild Games available on: iOS + Android + Switch Learn more about Totally Reliable Delivery Service

If you have driven around in sandbox environments and have seen through the delivery of packages, you may find an absolutely reliable delivery service according to your wishes. It is a physics platform with a touch of ridicity and was just started for iOS and Android. If I look at the start video, it certainly explains why the packages I had in the last few weeks were in a terrible condition.

It s free to play with IAPs for unlocks, and you can not argue with this price.

2 Sagrada

Available to: iOS + Android Learn more about Sagrada

Dire Wolf Digital, the team behind one of my favorite adjustments for digital board games (Raiders of the North Sea), is back in full. This time you have adapted the extremely popular stained-glass dice game Sagrada.

Sagrada, for those who do not know it has to roll cubes to put together a stained glass. It s about designing the best dice combinations to achieve a high score, and to use your skills at the best time to maximize this. While losing the tactility of dice (certainly an important part), the artwork is exceptional and there is no more enlightenment that you need to do afterwards - wonderful.

3 bomb chicken

Developer: Nitrom Publisher: Nitrome available to: iOS + Android + Switch Genre: Platform Learn more about Bomb Chicken

2020 was a year of social spaces and pandemics, but maybe, maybe we can make it a year for chickens, which put bomb chicken explosive eggs.

A normal chicken suddenly gets the power to lay bombs instead of eggs, but they can also step them against enemies and stack them up. This leads to strolling gapes, and if you add the fact that it comes from nitromas (so you can expect a lot of juice and excitement), you have an omelet recipe recipe.

I played a bit of bomb chicken when it was released two years ago for switch, and I really enjoyed it very much to throw bombs on enemies. It reminded of those later Bomberman games, but as a 2D platform full of poultry and explosives.

4 Carcassonne (Asmodee)

Publisher: ASMODEE DIGITAL Available to: iOS + Android + Steam Genre: Card / Board Game, Multiplayer, Strategy Learn More about Carcassonne (Asmodee)

Not too long ago, I was very proud to report that the Asmodee Group had opened its digital licensing for your IPS. This news meant that all types of companies should be able to use the IPS for some of the largest games in the market - including many modern classics such as Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne. So it was a bit strange that TheCodingMonkeys Carcassonne, as they were removed from the App Store, should be digitally replaced by a ASMODEEE digital.

Let us ignore this curiosity for the time being and instead celebrate that one of the most important modern board games is available again on iOS. Carcassonne is how many tell you are definitely an important factor for the Golden Age, which we experience in board games, as well as for the popularization of the genres worker placement and Euro-Game. Oh, it was born with certainty also the modern meeeple - my goodness ... can it make me a cup of tea?

If you did not play Carcassonne, you may not understand the fanfare - or even do not know how to play the game. It is a pretty simple game where players place alternately platelets. Each tile can have a combination of streets, cities and monasteries. Each in different ways at the end of the game; Roads are rated based on the length, fields based on the number of completed cities that touch them, based on the flags inside and the city size and monasteries based on the number of tiles they touch. However, you only get the points when you put a worker on it and claim you during the game.

Here it becomes strategically if you sign up early for a platelet, other players probably change their play style to prevent them from giving them points. It s torn, it s wise and it s a classic.

5 Orwell: Keep an eye on

Available to: iOS Learn more about Orwell: Keep an eye on you

So, work from home, what? How about this technology ... Too bad if someone uses them to spy on everything they have done ... right?

Do not worry about it. In Orwell: keep an eye on you, you snoop and dig. It is a fascinating game where you browse restricted files and public information to pull associations and prevent crimes (or clarify). As with any hacker-style game, it has an incredibly clean user interface that makes a pretty funny little experience in combination with the concept of the game. Small quirks like changing character profiles while playing really show how much care has been put into the design.

Orwell: Keeping a Eye on You plays as a five-piece series. Hopefully the continuation (Ignorance Is Strength) will be mobile even in the near future - it is just as fantastic.
