Wasteland 3 takes the best parts of Wasteland 2 and the pump up to 10

During a recent practical experience with Wasteland 3, Cogconnected has experienced an experience highlighting the fight of the game, a variety of level designs, a dialogue tree system and its new vehicle. With the relatively recent acquisition of Inxile Entertainment by XBOX Game Studios, the game budget has increased parallel to a delay in order to support upgrades. From what I saw compared to my experience with Wasteland 2, it seems to be waiting.

Instantly, the visual difference between Wasteland 2 and Wasteland 3 was noticeable. While Wasteland 2 kept a more RPG retro style, Wasteland 3 looked like a contemporary game. Although graphics are not the determining factor to determine if a game is good or not, the improvement is significant and very appreciated. In other words, the winter of Colorado has never been so beautiful. The updated user interface, as well as the global experience of the user, also felt better. Specifically, the user interface in combat situations is much clearer, which facilitates the definition of combat situations for new franchise players.

Aside from the visual elements, the combat experience seemed significantly improved compared to its predecessor. Compared to Wasteland 3, the fight of Wasteland 2 seemed rather insufficient. Wasteland 3 feels more online with other tactical games such as XCOM. Being able to use the environment, target specific parts of the body and control the vehicle of my squad were all pleasant at work. Although I know relatively little the Wasteland franchise, I was able to go directly to action with some practical knowledge of the systems. One of the most satisfying struggling moments that I had may have been to darken on enemies with the massive team of the team (which also transports the team outside the fighting) and to shoot a Fuel tank of the enemy attached to his back.

In addition to the fight, two specific parts of the demo of the game marked me: the puzzle resolution and the conversations. Although players, without a doubt, get to the fight to make their way through the levels, alternative paths involving environmental challenges also play an important role in the game. More specifically, during the demonstration, I fell On various puzzles involving fire pillars, rotating blades and bears filled cage. Each of these involved failures, but also multiple potential pathways, whether through environmental signals, team skills or raw force. The potential of Wasteland 3 of alternative paths allows players to play their guise, whether it is a tramp or an individual more aversive in combat.

Very close to the level design, conversations in the game can take very different turns, especially in important situations. The conversation at the end of the demo took place with the son of the Patriarch, which was fully expressed (with the rest of the game) and the movement captured. This conversation had a number of potential consequences that could arise according to your conversation choices, group members, and more, leading to consequences from the death of the character to his integration into your team.

Having played only a small part of Wasteland 2, I would say that the biggest barrier at the entrance for me was access. Being directly launched in a little experienced game has resulted in a much more difficult period than expected. During my time with Wasteland 3, I had the chance to discuss with the main designer Jeremy Kopman.

Tree of Savior Re:Build - 10 MUST KNOW TIPS For Newbies! With the recent acquisition of Inxile Entertainment and the announcement of the title launch on Xbox Game Pass, a more accessible entry in the game will be vital to maintain the interest of players for the game. The increase in the budget helps to improve the Graphics, game, accessibility, etc. Even though I personally encountered problems to access Wasteland 2, Wasteland 3 is trying to eliminate barriers earmarked on the market. Wasteland 3, whose exit is scheduled for the beginning of 2020, should take all that the players of Wasteland 2 liked, and make it better.
