Warface Interview - a conversation about next gene, the future of the game and more


Warface franchise boss Ivan Pabiarzhyn talks to Riegsgesicht about the future of Warface and the entire industry.

We have 3 currencies in the game: Warface dollars, crowns and loans. Warface Dollars is the main currency, which is earned by participating in missions for co-op, versus and special operations, depending on how successful one played in it. And finally loans that could either be bought with real money or earned by winning regular competitions and competitions in the game.

Do you have plans to start the switch?

It is a year ago Riegsgesicht was available for PS4 and Xbox One and we have already exceeded the milestone of 13 million players worldwide, with 40% of them from the USA. We see a huge potential in the CrossSplay between PS4 and Xbox One players that will be available in Wariegesgeicht in the second quarter of next year. Our main goal is to make Riegsgesicht accessible to as many players as possible, especially considering the dynamic and rapid environment of the game.

In my opinion, it is quite logical that CrossSplay could be available in the next-generation consoles.

There was a lot about SSDs talked, which is confirmed that they work both on the PS5 and on the Xbox Series X. In your opinion, what is the biggest impact on development? __

The transition to SSD is probably the most important improvement in the consoles of the new generation. The performance of the hard disk subsystem is the closest bottleneck of the current generation. And this problem becomes more urgent with the growing trend towards open worlds in the size of ten and sometimes hundreds of square kilometers in modern game projects from year to year. In the open play worlds it is not possible to leave the entire playing card in the RAM. Developers must therefore add new objects to location for location while the player progresses. But SSD solves this problem. You can imagine SSD as RAM extension. Layers should be charged faster, drawing distances can be increased. It should also enable developers to get rid of such a rudiment like a charging screen and to make the game as seamlessly as possible. Fast streaming allows the creation of larger game worlds with richer locations.

Based on the information we have about this new haptic PS5 controller, we see a good potential to enrich the gaming experience to add new interaction opportunities to players to expand the horizon for the developers and thus develop the development of progressive video games. But ... I think much will depend on Sony and how it makes PS5.

Speaking of Next-Gen hardware: PS5 and Xbox Series X will both have a Zen 2-CPU. How big is the jump over the current hardware and how will he help? Development?

With the new generation of AMD processors in the PS5 / Xbox series X, the processor frequency can be increased by about 50%. For games, this means improving the quantitative parameters: detail / size of the worlds, more processing of KI characters. More important, however, is that previously unavailable effects can be created. For example, the misjudgment of a physically reliable reflection of sounds of walls that can change the genre of protect against the competition, which attracts more of the reaction rate and shot accuracy of the player at the moment, compromises in assessing the accuracy of enemy positioning by means of noise.

The Xbox series X also offers GDDR6 memory. What effects does this affect games in conjunction with the other innovations that we will see in the next generation consoles? __

The memory performance is one of the largest bottlenecks in the development of a console. GDDR6 offers a great leap in the data transfer rates between processor and RAM. This means that the CPU is less time waiting for access to data in RAM, which is likely to have a positive impact on the frame rate. With GDDR6, developers can bring more content to the screen without having to do without stable frame rates, which is great.

How do you see the HAPTIC CONTROLLER OF THE PS5? Think that it is something that can contribute much to experience, or will it only be a novelty?
