How Schmadtke once helped VfL Bochum Zoller in the track
With Zoller combine many hopes of the climber. Bochum's current squad comes together on just 43 Bundesligatore, eleven of it alone at Simon Zoller, who also presented itself in top form in the rise year and scored 15 goals.
ZOLLER: goal-threatening striker and toxic entertainer
At the first Bundesliga game of VfL Bochum after eleven-year break on Saturday, Zoller is of course the first choice in the attack center. As a goal-threatening striker, he is enormously important for the VfL, as well as a toxic entrepreneur who cultivates the adoption of the opponent with great effort.
76 Bundesliga games (11 goals) has been denied Zoller so far so he is one of the few players in the squad with Bundesliga experience. A special brand attracts the striker in not too big. "This season, when everything runs, I come across the brand of 100 Bundesliga games and played more than 100 times in the 2nd league. I think that's very neat," said Zarzer recently in the Bundesliga interview.
ZOLLER: "The way back was intense and demanding"
In January 2019 Zoller made a step back, went from 1. FC Cologne to Bochum in the 2nd league. Now he's up again, but the 30-year-old emphasizes, he must prove nobody that he can meet regularly after a great second division season in the Bundesliga. "Above all, I want to prove myself that I can have Bundesliga. The way back was intense and demanding, but it has more than worth it."
The career of the hard-working striker did not always curtail. Therefore, the first Bundesliga game for a long break for him is something very special: there is a reunion with Jörg Schmadtke, maker in Wolfsburg, formerly in Cologne Zoller's boss. "Jörg Schmadtke and Peter Stöger helped me a lot in my Kölner's time," recalls the attacker. "You have given me a second chance I have worked hard after my first Cologne year."
Schmadtke helped back the right way
Especially intensive conversations with Schmadtke brought Zoller to the right way back then. "The exchange with him was always very pleasant and open," recalls the striker. He was not exactly the party type, but "pretty blue-eyed" and have been the focus on other things from time to time, gives Zoller too. Schmadtke helped relies on the right way back.
ZOLLER's contract runs out
In Bochum, the operational attacker then found his sporting happiness, is long indispensable and an important voice in the team. That's why he wondered that he goes to the new season without knowing whether the VFL will continue to build on him. Zoller's contract expires, nothing is known about an extension.
For him that was unusual, told Zoller weeks ago, "because I had such a situation yet. Everything else you will see. It is known, but that I feel good in Bochum".
With strong appearances in the Bundesliga, Zoller himself can make the best advertisement for conforming to calls.
